Have you had the pleasure of seeing the Saucon Valley Panther in action? This Panther knows how to work a room. This hugging, high-fiving, dancing and cheering Panther seems to be everywhere. Saucon Source decided to track down this enthusiastic mascot and see what makes it purr. What we found is that this energetic Panther is not only very talented, but this feline has a great sense of humor too. Check out this Q&A with the Saucon Valley Panther!

Q:  What is the BEST thing about being the Saucon Valley Panther?

A:  I like to play with a ball of yarn in the hallways of the high school. I also like prowling around the cafeteria.

Q:  When you get together with all your mascot friends, what games do you like to play?

A:  My favorites are “Chase the Laser Pointer” and Mouse Trap.

Q:  You have some pretty good dance moves. Did Papa Panther teach you how to dance? If not, who did?

A:  Some moves I learned from Papa, but I picked up some tricks from Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé.

Q:  If you would meet the Penn State Nittany Lion, what would you ask?

A:  We are already Facebook friends and we tweet each other every day.

Q:  What is you favorite munchie or junk food?

A:  I really like catnip and Cheetos with a side of milk.

Q:  If you were to be a contestant on “The Voice,” what song would you sing?

A:  Definitely “Black Cat” by Janet Jackson. Maybe “Cat Scratch Fever” by Ted Nugent.

Q:  Do you have any pets?

A:  No, but I wouldn’t mind getting something bite size I can chase like a hamster or bird.

Q:  Being a senior, have you decided where you would like to go to college?

A:  I am undecided but will always be a Panther.

Q:  Is it true your favorite NFL team is Carolina?

A:  Absolutely, our entire pride roots for them. Our family has cheered for them for generations.

Q:  What is your score prediction for the game Friday night against Scranton Prep?

A:  The Panthers will pummel Scranton Prep 42-7.

You never really know when the next Panther sighting will take place. But, there is a pretty good chance you will be able to see the Panther in action Friday night in Peckville, Pa. It is there that Saucon Valley takes on Scranton Prep in the first round of the PIAA state football tournament (7 p.m. kickoff).

Good luck Saucon! The Source is with you.
