Lower Saucon Township Police say a Philadelphia woman was cited for a Pennsylvania Vehicle Code violation after she allegedly struck a parked vehicle as she attempted to back down the Frederick Street hill from Rt. 378 Saturday.

In a news release issued Tuesday police said Orbilia Cortes, of the 6300 block of Horrocks Street, started backing down the hill shortly before 3:30 p.m., after she was unable to turn right onto Rt. 378.

“Her tires kept spinning due to the steep grade and (a) wet roadway,” police said.

The vehicle Cortes allegedly struck was legally parked and owned by a Barnesville, Schuylkill County, man, police said.
