This week’s Saucon Hometown Hero is high school senior Brett Szabo, who gives back to his community by being a volunteer EMT at Dewey Fire Co. and a junior firefighter at Se-Wy-Co Fire Co. Nominate your Saucon Hometown Hero today!
Brett Szabo
Brett is a senior at Saucon Valley High School.
His academic achievements have earned him admission to the college of his choice (DeSales University), where he will study nursing. He has already been awarded several academic scholarships.
In addition to his academic achievements, however, Brett also serves his community in several capacities. He is a volunteer EMT at Dewey Fire Co. in Hellertown, and he is also a junior firefighter at Se-Wy-Co Fire Co. in Lower Saucon Township. The weekend of the blizzard he slept at the firehouse the entire weekend so he would be available for calls if anyone needed help.
In addition to his academics and community service, Brett also works several jobs, and has a wonderful girlfriend.
