K9 Search Recovers Crack Cocaine, Police Say

A vehicle search by Lower Saucon Township Police Department’s K9 unit Feb. 7 resulted in the recovery of two concealed packages of crack cocaine and cocaine as well as drug paraphernalia, police said in a news release Thursday.

According to police, K9 Atos was summoned to the scene of a Rt. 378 traffic stop after Aaron Kale, 28, of the 2100 block of Princeton Avenue, Bethlehem, was allegedly found in possession of a small amount of marijuana, and a narcotic search inside his vehicle was initiated.

Kale was stopped shortly after 8:30 p.m. for a traffic violation, police said, and was also found to have an active warrant from Northampton County authorities.

“(He) was taken to Northampton County Prison and committed,” the news release said. “Charges for summary vehicle code and misdemeanor drug offenses (have been) filed (against him) via mail.”
