Richard E. Kemmerer, 85, of Hellertown, died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Fountain Hill.

Richard E. Kemmerer, 85, of Hellertown, died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was married to Jane L. (Hoover) Kemmerer. He was born in Hellertown on July 12, 1930 to the late Charles S. and Emily S. (Laubach) Kemmerer. Richard served our country faithfully in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was employed at Just Born Inc., Bethlehem, for many years until his retirement. He also worked at PB&NE Railroad as a lineman, Dennis Drug Store, Bethlehem, and Lehigh Candy and Tobacco, Whitehall. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hellertown.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his wife; children: Letty L. (Jeffrey J.) Petruno of Salisbury Twp., Kelly R. (Kristen B.) of Hanover Township, Kerry L. (Kimberly A.) of Hellertown; siblings: Verda I. Zaparzony of Bethlehem, Arland V. (Martha B.) Hellertown, Gloria Eisenhart of Hellertown, Lloyd A. (Betty) of Bethlehem, Marlene M. Groff of Bethlehem, Carl F. (Shirley) of Hellertown, Lois Brown of Bethlehem; grandchildren: Torey Petruno, Kelsey, Kody, Kenzi, Kory, Kelly and Karter Kemmerer. He was predeceased by siblings: Henry and Carolyn Bachman.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment with military honors will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
