Literacy Week 2016 at Saucon Valley Middle School is in for a special treat. On May 5th and 6th, local author Josh Berk will be visiting!
Josh Berk is a children’s author from right here in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He is the author of the The Dark Days of Hamburger Halpin, named the Best Book for Teens of 2010 by both Kirkus Reviews and Amazon.com.
He also wrote Guy Langman: Crime Scene Procrastinator and a new sports crime series featuring a group of curious, baseball-crazy kids. This series, featuring Strike Three You’re Dead and Say it Ain’t So, can be found in the school library for students interested in reading it.
Having read Strike Three You’re Dead myself, I would personally suggest it to any middle schooler regardless of whether or not they like sports. It’s a hilarious story filled with adventure and mystery which will leave you on the edge of your seat up to the last page. Of course, if you are a baseball fan, you’ll find it even more enjoyable.
If you’re a fan of Literacy Week, you’ll love this author.
A special thanks to the Saucon Valley Foundation For Education Innovation for making it all possible!
