The second annual Saucon Creek Arts Festival will be held at Heller Homestead Park in Lower Saucon Township on Saturday, June 4, the Saucon Valley Conservancy–the event’s organizer–announced in a news release.

This year’s one-day festival will feature entertainment and a juried art show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will be held rain or shine.

“Over 50 artists and artisans will display their art works in tents on the beautiful Heller Homestead Park grounds,” the news release said. “The juried art show will feature fine art paintings, photographs, glass works, pottery, woodworking, jewelry, textile art, mixed media and more.”

An indoor gallery will showcase works by Saucon Valley and Nazareth Area School District students.

Live acoustic music presented by Godfrey Daniels will include a special one-hour children’s show by Dave Fry at 1 p.m.

The schedule for the other performances is as follows:

  • 10 a.m. – Jason Hahn, fingerstyle guitarist
  • 11 a.m. – The Dulcimer Boys, traditional dulcimer music
  • 12 p.m. – 99 Stringz, traditional music
  • 1 p.m. – Dave Fry, a show for kids of all ages
  • 2 p.m. – Ed Saultz, traditional and contemporary Irish music
  • 3 p.m. – Mike Holliday, singer/songwriter
  • 4 p.m. – Piper’s Request, traditional Irish song and dance

In addition to the artists’ booths, the festival will host a kids’ art activity area and food vendors, adjacent to the nature trail along the Saucon Creek.

“We especially welcome children with autism to participate in making arts and crafts,” the news release said.

Entries for a drawing to win an original art work will be available at a hospitality tent.

Guided tours of two historic buildings in the park, including the homestead, will be available. Visitors will also be able to see a traditional Four Square Herb Garden and view the stone barn ruins on the site.

Festival parking will be available at an adjacent public park, with handicapped parking onsite. A $3 parking donation will be accepted.

Proceeds from the festival will help support the mission of the Saucon Valley Conservancy, which offers educational services to the community and works to preserve historic buildings. The conservancy is also continuing to stabilize the historic Heller Barn ruins in the park, and said it plans to create an outdoor community venue which will incorporate the existing barn ruins site.
