Battle of Bartenders Will Raise Money for Church Youth Mission Trip in Unique ‘Hair-Off’

A “Battle of the Bartenders” between good friends David Heintzelman, owner of Heintzelman Funeral Home, Hellertown, and Pastor Phil Spohn of Christ Lutheran Hellertown will first and foremost raise money for the church youth group’s upcoming mission trip at the end of July. However, there’s more on the line than just money–specifically, the hair of the two men, who have challenged each other to a ‘hair-off.’

However, there’s more on the line than just money. Specifically, two men’s pride in their hair is also at stake.

The friends have engaged in a personal challenge–a “hair-off,” if you will–to see who can raise the most money in tips (donations) at the Braveheart Highland Pub fundraiser this Monday, with the loser agreeing to have his head shaved bald as a sign of his defeat.

Trendz of Saucon Valley will supply the equipment/venue for the head-shaving.

Both Heintzelman and Spohn have been aggressively recruiting friends and supporters via social media posts to come to Braveheart, which is located at 430 Main St., Hellertown, this Monday, July 11, from 6 to 8 p.m., to support them (and hopefully help them keep their hair).

Of course, the ultimate winners of this good-natured challenge between friends will be the church’s youth.

The fundraiser is open to everyone.

Who do you plan to support with your tip money: Pastor Phil or Dave?
