A church benefit is planned for a Springfield Township that was displaced by a house fire earlier this month.

Christ Lutheran Church, 3230 Main St., Springtown, will host a bake sale and homemade soup sale on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to benefit the Armstrong family, whose home on Rt. 212 in Springtown burned down Sept. 3.

According to an article published by the Intelligencer, the fire left a single mother and her five daughters homeless. One of the children has cerebral palsy and is on a ventilator, one of the benefit’s organizers said.
