About 14 minutes into the opening half of Thursday’s game, Saucon Valley senior Jessie Evans scored what would be the lone and winning goal against rival Palisades. With the victory, the Panthers finish the Colonial League regular season with an 11-1 record. That impressive record is good enough to lock up the number one seed in the upcoming Colonial League tournament which will ultimately decide the Colonial League title.
The most likely scenario will have Saucon squaring off against Southern Lehigh and Salisbury taking on Northwestern Lehigh. The winners of next week’s pairings will then advance to play for the League championship.
Following Thursday’s Panther victory the senior girls were recognized and honored. Coach Stevie Ochse delivered a heartfelt address to her eight seniors that highlighted the many impressive accomplishments of their high school careers.

These graduating seniors, said Ochse, were 54-4-2 in Colonial League play. They scored almost 300 goals while giving up only 55 over their four years. In addition, this talented group played in two Colonial league championship games and in a District XI championship game. This group was also part of the program when Ochse’s team won the Sportsmanship Award presented by the PIAA Lehigh Valley referees.

After Ochse’s address, the seniors were individually recognized and honored with cake and gifts. It was a special, feel-good night for sure!
The eight senior team members are Jessie Evans, Katia Faroun, Celia Heenan, Ashleigh Nagy, Anna Opgaard, Kate Ross, Sarah Savant and Madison Stump.
Great job ladies, and best of luck moving forward! The Source is with you!
