Although the Panther football team suffered their first loss in nearly 2 years when they were defeated by Northwestern Lehigh on a muddy field in New Tripoli Sept. 30, that didn’t mean there weren’t some fantastic Panther plays worthy of recognition by Kerry Kemmerer, who presents the Kerry’s Krunch Award sponsored by Main Street Gym to an outstanding Saucon football player at Hellertown’s Braveheart Highland Pub each week.
Kerry was unable to present the award immediately following the Northwestern game, so the Friday, Oct. 7 episode of Kerry’s Krunch (broadcast live on Saucon Source’s Facebook page) was a “double header” with two award winners named: Trey Polak (Week 4) and Stephen Good (Week 5), who received his award for his outstanding play of the game Oct. 7 against Northern Lehigh–a quarterback-bagging on a blitz (see below for videos of both award-winning plays). This was Good’s second Kerry’s Krunch award.
As the Kerry’s Krunch Weeks 4 and 5 award winners, Trey and Stephen will receive t-shirts from Main Street Gym in Hellertown, which sponsors the weekly award.
If you’re a member of the Saucon Valley Panther Nation be sure to visit Braveheart Highland Pub, 430 Main St., Hellertown, for the next Saucon Source Post-Game Tailgate Party and the announcement of the next Kerry’s Krunch award recipient on Friday, Oct. 14, immediately following the Panthers’ Homecoming game against Wilson, which begins at 7 p.m. at the SVSD stadium. The award announcement will also be broadcast on Saucon Source’s Facebook page live.
