Expect Long Ticket Lines, Standing Room Only at Saucon-NDGP Football Game Friday, AD Says

The buildup for a highly-anticipated high school football showdown between local powerhouses Saucon Valley and Notre Dame-Green Pond Friday is so great that Saucon’s Athletic Director Bob Frey issued a question and answer statement about ticket sales, seating and parking at the game Thursday, so Panther fans will know what to expect before they go.

“Friday’s game is expected to bring a large crowd,” Frey said. “Due to the size of NDGP’s stadium there will be tight seating, standing room only and spectators close to the field.”

The gates to the NDGP stadium will open and ticket sales for Friday’s game will begin at 5 p.m., he said.

Since there are no advance ticket sales for the game, all tickets must be purchased at the gate during entry to the game.

“Lines may be long,” Frey warned. “Please do not arrive at 6:45 p.m. and expect to be inside the stadium for kickoff. Please arrive early.”

Parking will be limited and carpooling to the stadium in Bethlehem Township is being encouraged.

“There are three main areas for parking at NDGP: The large parking lot in front of the school, the driveway entrance entering the school off Farmersville Road and a large grass parking lot behind the stadium off Church Road,” Thursday’s statement said. “There will be parking attendants assisting with parking for the event. To assist with parking needs, fans are encouraged to carpool if at all possible to reduce the number of cars at the event.”

Since seating is limited at the Crusaders’ stadium, additional portable bleacher seating will be provided along with a standing room-only area.

Tailgating is permitted outside the stadium, however those who are tailgating will be asked to keep their tailgating to a small area and to be sure all garbage and materials are cleaned up prior to the start of the game.

“There are no garbage cans in the parking area so garbage needs to be deposited in correct bins inside the stadium or taken with you,” the statement said.

Alcohol and smoking are both prohibited on school grounds.

Friday’s game will be televised live on RCN and taped for a delayed broadcast on Service Electric.

The Game Schedule is as follows:

  • 6:30 p.m. – Saucon Valley Band Performance
  • 6:45 p.m. – NDGP Senior Night Activities
  • 7 p.m. – Pre-Game Prayer & National Anthem
  • 7:05 p.m. – Kickoff

“All spectators are reminded that sportsmanship is of the upmost importance,” Frey emphasized. “Please show your support for the Panthers and respect all individuals attending Friday’s game as we are looking forward to a great, competitive night on the field.”

Notre Dame is located at 3417 Church Road, Easton, just off William Penn Highway.
