The 2016-2017 SV Panther Winter Sports Season is Underway
The SVSD campus was more alive than usual today after school with the official start of the 2016-2017 PIAA winter sports season. According to Panther Athletic Director Bob Frey, about 220 students have registered from grades 7-12 to participate in Saucon Valley School District winter sports. The kids were working hard all over campus this afternoon and evening preparing for a new season.

According to Panther Athletic Director Bob Frey, about 220 students have registered from grades 7-12 to participate in Saucon Valley School District winter sports. The kids were working hard all over campus this afternoon and evening preparing for a new season.
SV winter sports include:
- Â Wrestling: Boys varsity, junior varsity and junior high
- Â Swimming: Boys and girls
- Â Boys basketball: Varsity, junior varsity, junior high and middle school
- Â Girls basketball: Varsity, junior varsity, junior high and middle school
- Â Cheerleading







The Panthers open with an assortment of scrimmages after Thanksgiving. Official basketball and swimming competitions start Friday Dec. 9. Wrestling begins their season with a Colonial League showdown with Pen Argyl Dec. 13.
