Charles G. Woerner, 91, formerly of Hellertown, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016 at New Eastwood Healthcare & Rehab Center, Wilson Borough.

Charles G. Woerner, 91, formerly of Hellertown, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016 at New Eastwood Healthcare & Rehab Center, Wilson Borough. He was the husband of the late Lois M. (Lacey) Woerner. Charles was born in Allentown on Aug. 29, 1925 to the late Charles H. and Isabell W. (Gieske) Woerner. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for Acme Markets, holding various positions for 41 years until retiring in 1983. Charles also worked as a custodian and was a former member at Lower Saucon UCC, Hellertown. He was a member of St. Peter’s UCC, Seemsville; Southeastern Volunteer Fire Co. and the Civil Air Patrol. Charlie was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed woodworking.

SURVIVORS

Children: Jeffrey B. (Patti) of Bethlehem and Cynthia L. (Jeff) Duser of Orefield; sister: Jean I. Jones.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment with military honors will conclude services at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
