A local financial advisor is starting a workshop specifically to help women in the area who are–or will be–going through a divorce.

The workshop is called Second Saturday, and is part of a nonprofit organization that was founded to help women in California 25 years ago.

“It’s a workshop designed to help women who are thinking about a divorce or going through a divorce,” organizer Deb Peters explained.

The workshop covers the emotional, legal and financial aspects of divorce.

A life coach who will be address the emotional aspects, a divorce attorney will discuss the legal aspects and Peters–a wealth advisor–will cover financial issues for the women who attend.

The workshops will be held the second Saturday of every month at Penn State Lehigh Valley, 2809 Saucon Valley Road, Center Valley from 9 a.m. to noon. The first workshop will be held Saturday, Feb. 11 and the cost to attend is $25 per person (payable by cash or check), which includes coffee and bagels and covers the overhead costs of the event.

“I feel there is such a need for this,” Peters said. “A divorce is a very scary time and can be crippling for some, so I’m hoping it is a big help to those who attend, to have people coming along side of them and helping them.”

For more information about the workshops, contact Peters at dp*****@ca**************.com or 610-871-3500.
