Lower Saucon Township Police say an employee of Giant Food Store, 1880 Leithsville Road, has been charged with theft and criminal attempt after she allegedly took $30 from a co-worker’s wallet after he lost it while working in the store Friday.

In a news release issued Tuesday, police said Arianna Cruz, 21, of the 200 block of Main Street, Hellertown, was interviewed after the man discovered the $30 cash missing from his wallet, which had been returned to the customer service desk.

“Through investigation it was learned that (Cruz) found the wallet first and took the cash out of it,” police said.

“(Cruz) admitted to the theft and that she did attempt to put the money back but found it was too late,” they added.
