An elderly couple was scammed out of $4,500 by four men who came to their home on Springtown Hill Road posing as driveway paving company employees, Lower Saucon Township Police said Saturday.

According to a news release, the men showed up unannounced at around 5 p.m. Friday.

Police said they pressured the victims to have their driveway paved and to write them a check for $4,500 without a contract.

After a relative threatened to call police, the men left the home without performing any work and immediately cashed the check at BB&T bank, 741 Main St., Hellertown, the news release stated.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call township police at 610-317-6110.
