Elderly Residents Victims of Driveway Paving Scam, Lower Saucon Police Say

An elderly couple was scammed out of $4,500 by four men who came to their home on Springtown Hill Road posing as driveway paving company employees, Lower Saucon Township Police said Saturday.

An elderly couple was scammed out of $4,500 by four men who came to their home on Springtown Hill Road posing as driveway paving company employees, Lower Saucon Township Police said Saturday.

According to a news release, the men showed up unannounced at around 5 p.m. Friday.

Police said they pressured the victims to have their driveway paved and to write them a check for $4,500 without a contract.

After a relative threatened to call police, the men left the home without performing any work and immediately cashed the check at BB&T bank, 741 Main St., Hellertown, the news release stated.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call township police at 610-317-6110.
