A Bethlehem area man and woman are both charged with DUI after Lower Saucon Township Police say their Nissan Rogue struck a fire hydrant on Colesville Road near Merryweather Drive shortly before 4 a.m. March 5.

In two separate news releases, police said Mersary Soto, of the 1600 block of Broadway, Salisbury Township, was allegedly driving the Rogue when it struck the fire hydrant.

She and Kyle Adam Oquendo, of the 1400 block of High Street, Bethlehem, then allegedly left the scene of the accident–with Oquendo now driving in place of Soto–and drove to Exxon, 3655 Rt. 378, where police officers located them and the vehicle.

Police said Soto was determined to be under the influence alcohol, with a BAC (blood alcohol concentration) of .20 percent.

Oquendo was also determined to be under the influence of alcohol, with a BAC of .16 percent, police said.
