A forum for the Saucon Valley School Board candidates running in the May 16 primary election was sponsored by Saucon Source and held Friday night, March 31, at Dewey Fire Co. in Hellertown, which generously donated the use of its social hall for the event. About 60 local residents attended the two-hour forum, which gave the candidates an opportunity to explain why they are running and answer questions.
In attendance were candidates: Sandra Miller (Inc.), Joe Harvey, Tracy Magnotta, Shamim Pakzad, Matthew Milliren, Scott Babashak and Cedric Dettmar. All are cross-filed in the primary except for Milliren, whose name will only appear on the Democratic ballot. School board candidate Jack Dowling (Inc.) was invited but did not attend. The forum was moderated by Saucon Source publisher Josh Popichak.
