A Saucon Valley School District employee who touched many lives during the years he worked there as a custodian and school bus driver has been memorialized by his former coworkers in a special way.

Stanley “Butch” Smith Jr. died Oct. 24 at the age of 65, but his memory will live on in the form of new books about wildlife, hunting and fishing–several of his beloved pastimes–that the custodial staff at Saucon Valley Elementary School recently donated to the school’s library, where they will help children learn about nature.

The news of the donation was shared with Saucon Source by Smith’s widow, Melody.

Stanley Smith Jr.’s legacy will live on in the form of books about hunting, fishing and wildlife donated by his former coworkers to the Saucon Valley Elementary School library.
