Expanded Summer Concert Series in Dimmick Park Kicks Off June 11

A newly-expanded free summer concert series in Hellertown’s Dimmick Park will begin on Sunday, June 11, with a performance by the popular ’60s and ’70s revival band The Large Flowerheads at 6 p.m. at the bandshell.

A newly-expanded free summer concert series in Hellertown’s Dimmick Park will begin on Sunday, June 11, with a performance by the popular ’60s and ’70s revival band The Large Flowerheads at 6 p.m. at the bandshell.

Food and beverages will be available from Lost Tavern Brewing, Sleepy Cat Urban Winery and various Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township restaurants.

The revamped concert series is being sponsored by the Hellertown-Lower Saucon Chamber of Commerce and the Borough of Hellertown, with support from BB&T and the Law Offices of Mark P. Albright.

New for 2017 is a BYOB option at four of the five concerts, which will be held through mid-August on the following dates (all concerts are from 6 to 8 p.m.):

  • Sunday, June 18 – Crazy Hearts (food and beverages will be available for purchase from the Hellertown Lions Club)
  • Saturday, July 22 – Uncle Rocco (in partnership with the annual Dewey Fire Co. Carnival, this concert will not be BYOB)
  • Sunday, July 30 – Brian Dean Moore Band
  • Saturday, Aug. 19 – James Supra & Sarah Ayers (in partnership with Hellertown-Lower Saucon Community Day, which will be held in the park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; food and beverages will be available for purchase from Lost Tavern Brewing, Hop Hill Brewing Co., Sleepy Cat Urban Winery, Aioli Food Truck and Licensed 2 Grill food truck)
