A retail pet store franchise which already has locations in Bethlehem Township, Allentown, Quakertown and Phillipsburg plans to open a store in the Creekside Marketplace (Giant) shopping center on Rt. 412 in Lower Saucon Township.
Canadian-based Pet Valu will open in an endcap store that was last occupied by Oasis Beverage, a beverage distributor that closed years ago, according to township paperwork posted in a store window.
In addition to pet food and supplies, some Pet Valu stores offer specialty services such as dog wash areas, grooming services and adoption services. The stores sell products for dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles and other small pets, such as guinea pigs.
“Across all our stores, you’ll find friendly Pet Experts trained in pet care and nutrition through the University of California Davis Extension School,” the About Us page on the Pet Valu website states. “We pride ourselves on being Pet Experts and we want to use our knowledge and experience to help you find the right nutrition and other solutions for your pets.”
“In our pet-friendly stores you’ll find over 7,000 products, including holistic and premium brands of pet foods and treats, as well as a wide selection of essential and innovative pet supplies to suit every budget,” the page states.
No opening date has been announced as of yet.
A media inquiry sent to Pet Valu via the company’s website has not been answered.
Job opportunities at the new store have recently been advertised on various websites.
The address for the new store is 1838 Leithsville Road, Hellertown.
