Nirvana Bleu opened in January 2016 and is owned by licensed professional nail technician Sandra Stola, who has 20 years of experience working in the beauty industry in the Lehigh Valley.

Before opening Nirvana Bleu, Stola, of Center Valley, worked at some of the premier spas in the area, and was the 2015 recipient of Lehigh Valley Style’s “Best Mani-Pedi” award at one of them.

“My specialty is the reflexology pedicure and my body treatment,” she explained recently.

Stola’s signature reflexology pedicure is a basic pedicure with detailing of all nails and skin followed by a callus treatment and a seven-minute reflexology massage on each leg. “And then I polish you to perfection,” she added.

Stola says she is “meticulous” when it comes to her work, and for that reason she counts some prominent local names among her clientele. That being said, everyone is welcome to indulge themselves at Nirvana Bleu, which is located in a historic one-room stone cottage near the entrance to Neighbors Home & Garden Center.

Inside the spa is cozy and quiet, although it is just steps from Hellertown’s Main Street. A walk-in fireplace, deep-set windows and a wooden door with elaborate wrought iron hinges contribute to the charming, almost fairy tale atmosphere.

The main treatment room at Nirvana Bleu includes two pedicure chairs with foot spas, which Stola said are constantly cleaned and sterilized to maintain an exceptional level of hygiene. All of the tools she uses are sterilized after each use and items such as buffer blocks are strictly single-use.

Stola’s body treatment is an “aroma journey,” she said, during which her custom-crafted body butter is massaged into the skin. The client is then “cocooned” inside a warm body wrap to help facilitate maximum absorption of the moisturizing agent. During the cocooning, Stola performs head, hand and foot reflexology, which leaves clients with extra supple skin she said will remain ultra-soft for a couple of days.

Manicures typically last up to six days and pedicures can last four to five weeks.

Stola stressed that all of the products she uses are natural and organic, with the exception of nail polish remover and most nail polishes. Upon request she also offers basic shellac manicures.

Although most of her clients are women of all ages, men who feel like being pampered are also welcome at Nirvana Bleu.

Guests are offered their choice of wine, tea or flavored water, and Stola even infuses the water she serves with flavors like strawberry and cucumber in the summer.

That attention to detail carries over to the body butters and scrubs she hand-crafts using ingredients like organic turbinado sugar, glycerine and essential oils.

Stola explained that she makes these products daily in small batches, so they’re always fresh. They are also available for purchase, along with gift certificates, which Stola said make great Mother’s Day gifts.

So far the majority of her clientele has come via word-of-mouth, she said, adding that she does advertise with a wedding planner. A referral program that rewards both the referrer and the new client has also helped her increase name recognition.

Currently, Stola is offering a new client special discount on a spa manicure and pedicure for $70, or a pedicure for just $45.

The reflexology pedicure is $105 and also lasts about an hour. During this time the entire focus is on you, Stola said, because all services are performed one-on-one.

For those who want to extend their relaxation experience, there is a second-floor room where a licensed massage therapist performs massage by appointment only, typically in the morning.

All of Nirvana Bleu’s services are also offered by-appointment-only, although the business is open six days a week and Stola is very accommodating when it comes to meeting her clients’ individual scheduling needs.
