Week 5 the Little Panthers played at the high school stadium.

On Saturday the Little Panthers had the honor of playing at the Saucon Valley High School stadium and battling the Palmerton Blue Bombers. It was Week 5 of the Colonial League Youth Football League; the fifth week of eight regular season games.

This season the Saucon Valley youth coaches are, once again, recognizing the efforts of their boys and girls as they participate in the football and cheerleading experience. Saucon Source is proud to be partnering with the coaches to share the kids’ successes this season with you!

Football recognizes a player, or players, every week with a “Panther Pride” award. The cheer coaches choose deserving girls and identify them with a “Panther Spirit” award.

The recognition of the kids can relate to anything from effort or enthusiasm to the acknowledgement of a great performance. Maybe the award will be for being a good teammate or volunteering their time. It can be for any number of positive things!

The awards are meant to be a fun and special way for the coaches to show their appreciation for the hard work and dedication the boys and girls invest in the football and cheer programs.

Here we go with this week’s awards!

Panther Pride!

FLAGS

Game Summary: The Flags kept on rolling Saturday afternoon at the high school stadium. The Palmerton Blue Bombers are always a tough team but the Panthers came ready to play from the first snap. The team was led by Henry Lookenbill, Luke Peters and Julian Lopez. Henry played on both sides of the ball and was tremendous both blocking and penetrating into the Bombers backfield. Henry’s blocking also allowed for the running backs to run wild. Luke was awesome on defense as well. He was the ultimate run-stopper, clogging up the middle the entire game. Julian was great from his defensive cornerback position. He made it nearly impossible to run outside in his direction. Julian also contributed with a 55-yard touchdown. Overall, it was an awesome team effort with six different players finding the end zone!
