Justin Kyra accepts his 5th Place medal in Monday’s Colonial League Tournament.
A Saucon Source Salute to the Saucon Valley Golf Team. The Panthers (Justin Kyra, Brad Yeahl, Robert Mateff, Austin Till, Thomas Gallagher, Anthony Bufanio and Chris Bufanio) stepped-up to shoot a total team score of 479 and finished 5th overall in Monday’s Colonial League Championship. Moravian Academy won the 2017 League title with a team score of 394.
Justin Kyra, a junior, led the way for Coach Scott Roberts’ Panthers shooting an 81 on Bethlehem Golf Club’s Par-71 course. It was Kyra’s best 18-hole round in League play this season and earned him a qualifying exemption in the upcoming PIAA District XI tournament which will be held at Lehigh Country Club on Monday, October 9.
Kyra earned 1st Team Colonial League honors for his performance. He is also a 2016-2017 1st Team All-Colonial League wrestler at 132 pounds and a member of the Panther football team.
The qualifying event for Districts will be held at Old Homestead Golf Club in New Tripoli on Monday.
