On the third day of honoring Panther football record holders, Saucon Source gives to you senior Steven Rose.
Steven measured 5’7″, 160 and wore #34. He played receiver and cornerback for the Panthers. Rosie earned All Colonial League Honorable Mention this past season as a defensive back. He is a talented ball-carrier and climbs into the record books in the 12th spot for Career Kickoff Return Yardage (206). He is also credited for having the 30th Longest Run from Scrimmage (61 yds. in 2015).
Who’s #1 in Career Kickoff Return Yardage? Brandon Shuck (2007-2010) has 795 return yards.
Who’s #1 in Longest Run from Scrimmage? Nick Savant (2013) hit one for 94 yards.
Steven said it: “There were a lot of great times, but my favorite memory, would have to be beating Central Catholic by 31 points even though everyone told us we couldn’t win.”
Coach Sams said it: “Steven had a great senior season for the Panthers. In the off season he made a major offensive switch from running back to wide receiver and had a breakout year. He led the team in receptions and touchdown catches. A big reason for his success was because of his work ethic. In the off season he made it a point to catch footballs every day! His work ethic is another reason why the coaching staff selected him as a captain. Furthermore, Steven was an honorable mention defensive back who could cover and lay the wood on running plays. Steven will be missed next year, but has left a lasting impression on the football team because of who he is.”
Congrats Steven, and best wishes in the future. The Source is with you!
