It’s the Christmas season in the Saucon Valley, and few places will sparkle brighter than Neighbors Home & Garden Center in Hellertown, where beautifully decorated theme trees, an enchanting ‘forest’ of artificial trees, holiday decor and much more are now on sale.

To add to the magic, Neighbors will host their annual Christmas Open House this weekend (Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 2-3), with festive fun and tremendous savings in store for everyone who stops by.

Shoppers will save 20 percent on all Christmas decorations*, 20 percent on pet toys and beds (because pets have Christmas lists, too!) and enjoy special savings in the Nursery department, where there is a large selection of fresh-cut Christmas trees for sale.

In addition to the sales, local clay figure artist Jack Siegfried–who’s known for his Santa figures, critters and characters–and painter Susan Lee will both be at Neighbors Saturday and Sunday. along with Hellertown Bakery, which will have yummy samples and treats for sale from 1 to 4 p.m. (both days). Place your holiday baked goods order while you shop!

Lost Tavern Brewing of Hellertown will be pouring samples of some of their craft brews from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, and Lower Saucon winery Black River Farms will have samples of some of their varieties Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Plus, visitors will get a chance to be entered to win a live wreath!

Other seasonal events are also planned at Neighbors during the month of December.

On Saturday, Dec. 9 from noon to 3 p.m. your furry friend can have his or her photo taken with Santa courtesy of Relay for Life of Greater Bethlehem-Saucon (proceeds will benefit Bark for Life and the American Cancer Society). While you’re at the store, don’t forget to check Fido or Felix off your list. Neighbors has a large selection of toys and treats just for them.

And, on Sunday, Dec. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. Neighbors will host a Mini Christmas Garden Workshop, where guests can create a one-of-a-kind mini garden for themselves or to surprise someone with as a gift. Choose from a wide variety of plants, vessels and seasonal figures available at the store. Reservations are required. At the same time, in the Nursery, Neighbors will hold a Bow-Making Class. Attend it and make unique bows for wreathes, holiday décor or gifts. Can’t attend the Mini Christmas Garden Workshop? Neighbors has you covered. The store has a special work station set up all season long, so you can come in and create one on your own time.

Can’t decide what to get for that hard-to-please person on your list? A Neighbors Home & Garden Center gift card is a great choice. Bonus savings are available this weekend, Dec. 2-3, during Neighbors’ holiday gift card sale. Purchase a $30 gift card for $25, purchase a $60 gift card for $50 or purchase a $120 gift card for $100!
