Do you love gemstone jewelry? Or are you more of a rockhound, always looking at the ground for unique stones? If you are either, you certainly won’t want to miss the Saucon Valley Lions Club’s 48th annual Lehigh Valley Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show at the Saucon Valley High School gymnasium, 2100 Polk Valley Road, Hellertown. The show will be held Saturday, April 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The show will feature numerous vendors–some new, many returning–specializing in gems, minerals, fossils, crystals, jewelry, lapidary supplies and more. Gilman’s at the Cave–the gift shop at Lost River Caverns in Hellertown–is among them.
New this year, attendees can bring in jewelry to be inspected, cleaned and polished by Henry’s Jewelers, free of charge.
Check out The Lucky Dutchman at the entrance to the show, where kids can engage in gem panning while adults check out his large selection of crystals, rocks and jewelry.
While shopping, take a break from carrying those heavy rocks by getting a chair massage with Saucon Valley Massage Therapy, who will be offering massages for $1 a minute.
If you come early Saturday, you can indulge your sweet tooth with a chocolate gem handmade by Alan Pitotti, a former winner on Sweet Genius who owns Dolce Patisserie in Hellertown.
In the lobby outside the high school gym there will be a food stand and bake sale.
Hourly door prizes are another highlight of the family-friendly event that’s fun for all ages.
As always, Miller-Keystone Blood Bank will be hosting a blood drive in the cafeteria from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 7. Blood donors are eligible to receive free admission to the show. Visit GiveAPint.org to create a donor profile and use sponsor code 1496 (call 610-554-7255 for more information).

The cost of admission is $7.50 for adults, $6.50 for students and seniors (with ID), and free for children under 8.

For a coupon good for 50 cents off admission, visit the Saucon Valley Lions Club website.

All proceeds from the show help fund The Blind Foundation, local families in need and scholarships that benefit local high school students.
