FC Steel ’05 Girls made their Rock League debut in a home game played at Penn State Lehigh Valley on Sunday.

Unbeaten on the day but a little shy of the sweep, FC Steel, wearing their trademark orange uniforms, were out in force on Sunday as all four of their teams competed in the opening round of the 2018 Rock Spring League.

Rock League is run by the Council Rock United Soccer Association (CRUSA) and offers both boys and girls leagues consisting of sixty-four divisions and almost 500 participating teams ranging from U9 up to U19.  Most teams are from the suburban Philadelphia area and all games are scheduled for Sundays and run through early June.

On Sunday, Logan Thrash and the FC Steel ’06 Boys competed for the first time in the CRUSA Rock League at Penn State LV.

FC Steel is the Lehigh Valley’s newest premier soccer alternative that started last year with only their ’06 Boys team.  The ’06 Boys were hugely successful winning a few summer tournaments and, in their inaugural season, making it to the 2017 DELCO championship finals.

What a difference (almost) a year makes. Sunday, FC Steel unveiled three additional, quality teams and all looked sharp in their Rock League opener competing on the campus Penn State Lehigh Valley.  FC Steel will use Penn State’s manicured fields and facilities as their home venue.  Currently holding tryouts, FC Steel hopes to build into a total of 10-12 Boys and Girls teams for the upcoming fall season.

With a 9-0 victory in their first outdoor contest, the FC Steel ’05 Girls must really like playing at Penn State Lehigh Valley.

Good Luck Steel, the Source is with you!
