National Night Out Brings Families, Police, Fire Depts. Together for Fun (Photos)
The first-ever National Night Out celebration in Hellertown was held Tuesday evening in Dimmick Park and was a success, in spite of severe weather that rumbled through the area in the midst of it.
National Night Out brought families and local residents to the park for a fun night of interaction with both the borough and Lower Saucon Township police departments, local volunteer fire companies and the National Guard.
The entire event was free, thanks to support for it from local business sponsors.
There was food, games, face-painting, children’s fingerprinting, appearances by Sparky the Fire Dog and Smokey the Bear, vehicles on display and even a tug of war competition.
