Stone Wall, Tree Damaged in Springtown Hit-and-Run Accident

Springfield Township Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred Friday at around 5:15 p.m. along Rt. 212 in the village of Springtown.

Springfield Township Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred Friday at around 5:15 p.m. along Rt. 212 in the village of Springtown.

According to a witness, the driver of a white delivery truck struck the historic rock wall and then stopped at a nearby Verizon substation to check to see if there was any damage to his truck before driving away.

The witness said the man is white with a beard and was wearing a yellow safety vest at the time of the accident.

According to the witness, the wall is part of a property that was recently sold, and the new owners haven’t even moved into their new home yet.

Anyone with information about the driver and/or the accident should contact Springfield Township Police via their Crimewatch website, where tips can also be submitted.
