Lower Saucon Township Police are investigating the theft of a purse from a parked vehicle in a smash-and-grab-type incident that occurred Thursday morning.

Police said in a post on their Crimewatch website that they were dispatched to the park around 9:10 a.m. for a reported theft from vehicle.

Police said that upon arrival at the park, the victim reported that someone had shattered the passenger side window of their vehicle and stolen a purse which had been on the front passenger side seat.

“Witnesses saw a suspicious man described as a white male, approximately 6 feet (tall), heavyset, middle-aged, (and) wearing shorts and a grey t-shirt in the parking lot and walking past the victim’s vehicle prior to the theft,” police said.

The man “was then seen driving a charcoal grey four door compact sedan at a high rate of speed leaving the park,” they added.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call township police at 610-317-6110 or 610-759-2200 or to submit a tip via their website.
