Free Paper Shredding Event Set for Saturday in Hellertown
If papers with sensitive information on them have been piling up and you’re looking for a quick and easy way to shred them, consider attending a free paper shredding event sponsored by the Borough of Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township this Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Dimmick Park on Durham Street.
If papers with sensitive information on them have been piling up and you’re looking for a quick and easy way to shred them, consider attending a free paper shredding event sponsored by the Borough of Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township this Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Dimmick Park on Durham Street.
The event which will be run by Iron Mountain is open to borough and Lower Saucon Township residents and businesses only, and identification will be required.
Iron Mountain will have a mobile shredding unit on-site and will provide guidance to attendees about items that are accepted and prohibited for shredding.
Prohibited items include wet materials, food products, phonebooks, cardboard, hardbound books, three-ring binders, plastics and hanging folders.
Papers attached with paper clips or staples, papers bound with rubber bands, small binders and file folders or any color can be recycled.
According to a flyer promoting the event, attendees will dump their papers into 65- and 95-gallon containers provided by Iron Mountain. The contents of those containers will then be shredded prior to the end of the event.
