Lafayette College professor of Religious Studies Dr. Brett Hendrickson will delve into America’s history of communicating with the dead in a special event at Easton’s Sigal Museum this Friday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m.

In “Communicating with the Dead in America,” Hendrickson will explore our history of spirit communication via mediums and other means. The talk will highlight everything from antebellum seances and the 20th century Ouija board craze to modern-day efforts to communicate with dearly departed loved ones on social media.

Hendrickson will also discuss the motivation for these practices and the surprising role science plays in them.

The talk will be held in the museum’s John R. Austen Auditorium and is free for NCHGS members. Non-members can attend for $10. For more information, visit the museum’s website.
