David A. Eckert (1946 – 2025)

David A. Eckert, 78, of Lower Saucon Township, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late John C. and Agnes M. (Check) Eckert. After high school, David enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War and also the United States Naval Reserve. After the war, David obtained his CDL license and began a career driving truck for various businesses in the Lehigh Valley. Before retiring, he worked as a maintenance technician at Weldship Corporation, Bethlehem. When he was younger, he enjoyed hiking and camping in his spare time. He enjoyed a trip with his son, daughter-in-law and grandson to Yosemite, Tahoe and the Golden Gate Bridge and treasured the memories they made.

SURVIVORS

Son: Mark A. Eckert and his wife Lisa; grandson: Haydn John Eckert, all of Bethlehem. He was predeceased by brothers: Richard, Donald and John.

SERVICES

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2025 at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, PA. A calling period will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2025 at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Please record a memory at Cantelmifuneralhome.com.
