Lucky Store at Promenade Going Out of Business

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

One of the original tenants at Promenade Saucon Valley is calling it quits. After more than 18 years in business, the Lucky Brand store in the Upper Saucon Township shopping center is preparing to close its doors at the end of March.

As part of the wind-down, the store is holding a going-out-of-business sale, with all clothing and accessories now 60 off. Business at the store was brisk Saturday, as area residents hunted for bargains on men’s and women’s jeans and other apparel.

Although it is unclear why the decision was made to close the store, Lucky Brand filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July 2020. The chain continues to operate more than 100 other locations, including about a dozen throughout eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Lucky store in the Promenade was the company’s only Lehigh Valley location, however.

News that the Lucky store is closing had spread by Saturday, with customers in search of bargains flocking to it.
