Police Timing Device Stolen in Upper Saucon

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Upper Saucon Township Police are accustomed to investigating crimes in which community members are the victims. On Wednesday, however, the police department itself was victimized.

Police said it was approximately 4:52 p.m. when an unidentified male suspect stopped the white Dodge van he was driving and stole a NOCO battery pack from the department’s speed timing device, which was set up at the intersection of Blue Church Road South and Wild Cherry Drive.

Police shared two photos of the man and his van in a Crimewatch post about the theft.

Anyone with information or video of the incident, or who can identify the man or provide the registration plate for the vehicle is being asked to submit a tip through the USTPD’s Crimewatch page or call 610-282-3064.
