Lower Saucon Brewery Plans to Relocate
A popular microbrewery and taproom in Lower Saucon Township will soon close its doors, but fans of Hop Hill’s brews will be relieved to know it won’t be for good. As soon as the right spot is found, the brewery plans to reopen in a different location.

Located at 1988 Blair Avenue, Bethlehem, just off Rt. 378, Hop Hill Brewing announced that it will soon close earlier this month. According to a post on the business’s Facebook page, owner Greg Smith made the decision after losing his lease.
“After having a verbal agreement for a lease extension, our landlord decided to go in a different direction,” his March 13 post said. “But with every closed door, another one will open.”
In the same post, Smith announced that merchandise is being discounted as part of current efforts to wind down operations in Hop Hill’s current location, which opened in February 2017. He also encouraged customers to stop by, fill up growlers and get their Lehigh Valley Brewers Guild passports stamped before the brewery closes its Lower Saucon taproom, which is located inside a garage bay.
Smith said that in addition to a new space, he is looking for partnerships as he plans Hop Hill’s next chapter.
“While we are waiting for our next place to be ready, if there is any brewery or winery interested in collaborating, partnering or looking for a brewer let us know,” he wrote. “Let’s show everyone how this industry still looks out for each other!”
Hop Hill’s hours until it closes its doors April 19 are Friday 3 to 10 p.m., Saturday 12 to 10 p.m. and Sunday 12 to 8 p.m.
Fans of Hop Hill should follow them on Facebook for updates about when and where they plan to reopen.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported us during these past few weeks of uncertainty, we hope to bring you some better news in the near future,” Smith said in a Facebook post Friday. “In the meantime, stay tuned for more updates.”
