Help Post Office ‘Stamp Out Hunger’ Saturday
An annual event that helps combat food insecurity will be held Saturday, May 10, and you donāt even need to leave home to participate.
The National Association of Letter Carriersā (NALC) Stamp Out Hunger food drive is held at mailboxes throughout the country. To contribute, simply place non-perishable food items in a bag next to or near your mailbox.
According to the NALCās website, since launching in 1993, the annualĀ āStamp Out Hunger Food Drive has grown into the nationās largest one-day food drive, helping to fill the shelves of food banks in cities and towns throughout the United States.ā
Donated items benefit local food banks and the families they serve, according to a mailer distributed by the organization.
National partners in the food drive include the USPS, National Rural Letter Carriers Association, AFL-CIO, United Way, Kellanova, CVSHealth, Valpak, UFCW and local food pantries.
