Alice Branco (1935 – 2025)

Alice Branco, formerly of Hellertown, passed away on May 15, 2025 at the home of her daughter, with whom she had resided in Northfield, Mass., for the past seven years. She was born in Bethlehem, daughter of the late Orentina Hendriques and Izauro Ferreira. Alice will be lovingly remembered by her family and all those who knew her. She was a loving and compassionate woman, always trying to lend a helping hand to her family and those in her community. She was married to the late Cesario Branco Jr., with whom she shared 65 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2017. Alice was the co-owner and head chef at Branco’s Portuguese Restaurant in Bethlehem for over 30 years until her retirement. Her customers and staff were a second family to her. She enjoyed travel and spending time with family.

SURVIVORS

Alice will be dearly missed by her children Anthony and wife Erna of Allentown, Dolores of Northfield, Mass. (where Alice spent the final chapter of her life) and Joseph and wife Krista of Lancaster. She enjoyed her five grandchildren: Michael, Christopher, Kevin, Jocelyn and Kyler; and her five great-grandchildren: Kara, Jaxon, Christopher Jr., Anthony and Max. She was predeceased by her brothers: Antonio and Joseph; and her sister: Isaura.

SERVICES

A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The viewing will be followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.
