Giant Recalls Store Brand Salsas

Giant announced Wednesday that it is recalling some of its Giant brand salsas due to possible salmonella contamination.

The recall includes the following products:

• GIANT Hot Salsa, 16 oz., UPC 68826703195, all lots/all codes
• GIANT Mild Salsa, 16 oz., UPC 68826703252 or UPC 007663751137, all lots/all codes

Customers who purchased one of the recalled salsas should discard it and contact Giant customer service for a full refund.

Giant did not say if anyone is believed to have been sickened by the recalled items. Systems of salmonella poisoning can include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, fever, nausea, vomiting and headache. Anyone who believes they are experiencing those symptoms should seek medical attention, the company said.
