Joanne Mihulec-Sheetz (1931 – 2025)

Joanne Mihulec-Sheetz, 93, of Hellertown passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Inpatient Hospice, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Michael “Moxie” Joseph Mihulec, who died June 21, 1991 and the late Alvin C. Sheetz Jr., who died March 7, 2017. Joanne was born in Morgantown, W.V., on Sept. 12, 1931 to the late Elmer J. and Nellie R. (Oliver) Henry. She had a fulfilling career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill, where she touched countless lives through her dedication and commitment to patient care. Joanne was a proud member of the St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Hellertown, and its Ladies Guild. She volunteered her time and care to the former St. Theresa’s New Beginnings Thrift Shop until its devastating fire in 2007.

SURVIVORS

Children: Michael S. and his wife Barbara Mihulec of Emmaus, Brenda Jo Weierbach of Bethlehem; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by siblings: Eugene Henry, Clifford Henry and Joyce Lynn Aitken.

SERVICES

Friends and family are invited to her viewing from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at the Connell Funeral Home Inc., 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem. The viewing will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown, PA 18055. The interment will conclude services at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Online condolences may be offered at Connellfuneral.com.
