SVSD COMPREHENSIVE PLAN: The district’s 2025-2028 Comprehensive Plan is complete and may be found on the SVSD website. Staff thank everyone who served on several Comprehensive Plan committees.

DIGITAL SIGNS: A digital sign was recently installed at the Walnut Street/Constitution Avenue campus entrance and a second sign on the campus’s south side is coming soon. The signs will highlight upcoming events, news and special recognitions.

MUSIC: Saucon Valley is proud to share that the district is one of 935 in the country to be recognized as a “2025 Best Communities for Music Education” recipient by the NAMM Foundation for Outstanding Support of Music Education.

BANDS AND CHOIRS RECEIVE AWARDS AT HERSHEY: The middle school ensembles did an amazing job at this year’s Music in the Parks festival at Hersheypark, winning every possible band award. The 5th and 6th grade band earned Excellent-level scores and took first place. The 7th and 8th grade band also received Excellent scores, secured first place and was named Overall Best Concert Band. The jazz band earned Superior scores, took first place and was recognized as the Overall Best Jazz Band. Congratulations to Julia Gomes for being named Most Outstanding Jazz Soloist. Meanwhile, the concert choir received Excellent scores and placed first, and the Camerata choir earned Superior scores, placed first and was named Overall Best Choir. The Handbell Ensemble also took first place. A special congratulations to Emmett Cook for being recognized as Best Student Accompanist.

SVSD RECEIVES COMMUNICATIONS AWARDS: Saucon Valley School District has been recognized in the National School Public Relations Association’s (NSPRA) School Communication Awards! With a record number of entries submitted to this year’s Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards contest, SVSD earned two national honors: Award of Merit (Infographic): Communications Guide and Honorable Mention (Video Series): Spotlight on Saucon Valley. These awards reflect a commitment to clear, engaging and effective communication with the community every day. SVHS USA MEDALLION SCHOOL: Saucon Valley School District & Saucon Valley High School have been recognized as a USA Medallion School by the Department of State for “promoting mutual understanding and respect among future generations of global leaders.”

ENVIROTHON TEAM AT STATES: Congratulations to the SVHS Envirothon team and advisor Kim Mertz on a strong showing at the state competition, where the team finished 6th overall. The team was tested on topics including wildlife, forestry, soils and land use, aquatic ecology and a current environmental issue, competing against teams from 64 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties.

BIG PANTHERS, LITTLE PANTHERS: It was another incredible year for the Big Panthers, Little Panthers mentoring program. More than 125 K-12 students participated in the program, building meaningful connections and creating lasting memories. The year concluded with a celebration at Hampton Bowling Lanes that was filled with strikes, arcade games, lunch, and most importantly, quality time between Big and Little Panthers. Congratulations and thank you to all the graduating Big Panthers.
