Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

With temperatures at record levels due to an ongoing heat wave, families throughout the area are flocking to pools and other locations that offer cooling relief. That was the case Tuesday afternoon at Soleco Pool in Coopersburg, where hundreds of people swam and played in the water as temperatures hovered in the upper 90s.

Monday’s high temperature of 97 degrees recorded at Lehigh Valley International Airport near Allentown set a new record.

The heat wave is forecast to continue Wednesday, with a high of around 94, before temperatures return to near normal levels on Thursday and Friday.

Soleco Pool is open daily from noon to 8 p.m., weather permitting. The pool is located at 3900 Jacoby Road, Coopersburg, adjacent to Southern Lehigh Living Memorial Park.
