Charges Pending in Richlandtown Assault Case, Police Say
State police at Dublin say criminal charges of simple assault and harassment are pending in a Richlandtown case from late last month.
According to a Sept. 2 news release, troopers responded to the Richlandtown Inn at 101 S. Main Street for a reported disturbance between tenants at around 8:15 p.m. Aug. 26.
They said they were then advised by property management that a door frame had been damaged by a 39-year-old male tenant. Damage to the door frame was estimated at $500.
Police said that while troopers were speaking with management, the man accused of causing the damage allegedly struck another man in the face with a closed fist, “causing a minor contusion and bruising under his eye.”
They said as their investigation continued, they observed “indicators of self-harm and harm to others.”
The individual accused of the assault was not identified in the news release, in which police said he was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital-Upper Bucks Campus’s Crisis Unit for involuntary commitment.
