DA: Lower Saucon Drug Bust Yields Meth, GHB, LSD, Ecstasy

Northampton County District Attorney Stephen G. Baratta Wednesday announced drug-related charges against a Lower Saucon Township man arrested after police executed a search warrant at his home last week.

According to a news release, 51-year-old Robert Harry Thompson of the 3800 block of Rt. 378 has been charged with four counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, six counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The DA’s office said methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, GHB, ecstasy pills, LSD, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seized from Thompson’s residence after the Lower Saucon Township Police Department and the Northampton County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant there on Friday, Oct. 3.

“This search warrant stemmed from an investigation initiated in August 2024 following information provided by the Bethlehem City Police Department,” the release noted.

Thompson was arraigned Friday by Northampton County District Judge Alan Mege and committed to Northampton
County Prison in lieu of $500,000 cash bail. He remained incarcerated as of Wednesday, according to court records.

According to the docket filed in his case, a preliminary hearing before Judge Mege is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 17 at 1:30 p.m.
