Springfield Twp. Launches Study On Village, Rt. 309 Development
Springfield Township is launching a planning study aimed at exploring development opportunities in its historic village areas and along the Rt. 309 corridor.
The initiative is being undertaken in partnership with the engineering firm Gilmore and Associate, officials said.
The study stems from the municipality’s comprehensive plan, which the Board of Supervisors adopted last year.
The comprehensive plan identified the village areas–Springtown, Pleasant Valley, Passer and Zion Hill–and the Rt. 309 corridor as having potential for future development. The areas have historically been centers of commerce within the township.
A key part of the process is gathering community input.
“We need your help to determine and prioritize the community’s needs and objectives for this important initiative,” the township said in a statement.
Residents can provide feedback via an online survey which is currently open.
