It was with profound sadness that the passing of Robert Charles Wildonger Sr., affectionately known to friends and family as Bob or Willie, was recently announced. He was born on July 29, 1947, in Abington, Pa., and departed this world on Sept. 28, 2025, at the age of 78, in Cape Coral, Fla. Bob was the beloved son of Charles and Enola (Fox) Wildonger. Bob’s journey through life was marked by hard work and a relentless pursuit of knowledge. He began his professional journey at just 16, working on a tomato farm, which ignited his passion for mechanics and cars. This passion led him to a remarkable 20-year career at BMW, where he not only honed his skills but also took great pride in mentoring countless young newcomers in the automotive industry. In 2011, Bob and his family relocated to Florida, where he continued his journey at Ace Hardware for another 13 years, furthering his legacy as a mentor and friend to those around him. Outside of work, Bob was a jack of all trades; a mister fix-it of all things who deeply enjoyed working on cars and sharing stories about his adventures in the automotive world. His life was rich with experiences that he freely shared with anyone who crossed his path, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer advice. Bob also had a deep love for animals, and all of the family pets were considered family and loved accordingly. Bob Wildonger Sr. was a remarkable man whose warmth, kindness and wisdom touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, mentorship and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered for the joy he brought into the world.
