Santa Welcomed at Fountain Hill Tree-Lighting Ceremony (PHOTOS)

The arrival of the Christmas season became official in Fountain Hill Sunday, with the borough’s annual tree-lighting ceremony and a visit with Santa at the Fountain Hill Fire Department.

The white-gloved one arrived at the chilly event on Cherokee Street shortly after 4:30 p.m., where he greeted fans of of all ages and paused for photos near the borough Christmas tree. Attendees were then invited inside the firehouse for hot dogs and hot cocoa.

The Broughal Middle School marching band performed seasonal favorites at the ceremony, which was one of several holiday activities happening in the borough.
