James Edward Qualls (1961 – 2025)

James Edward Qualls, 64, of Haycock Township, Bucks County, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (Reading) Qualls, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage. Born in Somerville, N.J., on July 13, 1961, James was the son of the late Howard and Elizabeth (Dawson) Qualls. He was a skilled and dedicated contractor, self-employed through Briatech Contracting in Morris County, N.J., where he worked for 17 years. James took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and craftsmanship. Outside of work, James enjoyed being a dad to his girls, playing the guitar, fishing, camping and gardening. He had a deep love for animals and treasured time spent outdoors and with his family.
SURVIVORS
In addition to his loving wife, Barbara, who he married on Oct. 20, 1990, James is survived by his children: Jennifer (Frank) DiChiara of Hillsborough, N.J., Brianna Qualls (Thomas Carrion) of Colorado and Sarah Qualls of Allentown. He was a devoted grandfather to Frankie, Christopher, Daniel, Colton and Julianna, who brought him immense joy. James was predeceased by his siblings: Donna, Beth and Howard.
SERVICES
Family and friends are invited to a private visitation/funeral service on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown.
